Bombing

Handball is one name for a mod created by rajh. During it's many reincarnations it has also been called Teeball, Football and Soccer. The latest release goes by the name of bombing. It has some similarities with the flagball mod but instead of using flags it uses a one shot grenade launcher as a kind of ball with which you must score in goals.

History
At different times both Soccer and Teeball were developed, but due the early phase of Teeworlds in these days they got little following. The first serious release of the Football mod came from rajh and was released on the 2nd of July 2008.
Bombing
A new generation of players took interest in this map, but didn't find any good maps for it. Many flagball maps were also capable of being played with the settings of this mod, but they were not adapted to the better passing options that bombing had. Since then only one known map has been released especially for this mod. The most popular map that is still played today is the bombing map created by Marik16. Due to it's uniqueness for this mod bombing has become a name on it's own for describing this latest incarnation of the old Handball, Teeball and Football concepts. It also is the only release which has been ported to 0.5.0 by Pepperoni from WTF. Bombing has been created for 5v5 games with just one simple rule: Put the ball into the opponent's goal.
WTF Bombing Cup
On the 25th of January 2009 the WTF clan announced a tournament specially held on the 1.2 version of the bombing map. Any team consisting out of 3 or 4 players could register, and the tournament would be shown on TeeTV. The tournament could be contacted by IRC (#worldteefederation at Quakenet), or by mail. Due to the fact that the minimum required number of teams was not reached the tournament was canceled on the 21th of February 2009.
Tournament rules
A special set of tournament rules has been created. Game Rules
- Score the ball in the opponents goal. For every time you score you get 1 personal point and 1 teampoint. If you pass and the pass-receiver scores your team get 2 points and you both get 1 point.
- The first team who gets 12 points is the winner of the match.
- If a ball is shot and it is on the ground it takes 5 seconds before it respawns at the midsection of the map.
- Goalkeeper function is off. This means players can not use the /goalkeeper command to gain unlimited jump which enables for easier goal defending.
- Please do not commit suicide. If you use suicide your team will get -1 teamscore. So watch out!
- Use of weapons and tactics available in this game are allowed, except suicide.
