Game skin

A game skin (also known as game.png) is an image which contains the data for several items in the game. Any modifications made to this file will also show in game, allowing you to modify the look of weapons, crosshairs, projectiles, muzzles, flags, hearts, armor and damage related graphics. The file itself is split up into 32x32 px squares by Teeworlds - which means that it's a good idea to use a grid of that size to edit the picture.

The file can be found in the data folder inside your Teeworlds folder, called game.png.

The standard game.png included with Teeworlds 0.4.3.
The game skin template required to design your own game skins.

How to create your own game skin

  • Download the game template
  • Open it with any Vector-Graphics program, e.g. Inkscape
  • Draw the images you like into the colored boxes
  • Delete the template-layer afterwards
  • Make sure you rename your old game.png file as a backup
  • Make sure the background is transparent
  • Save it as game.png
  • You may want to use dilate to remove the white pixels
